Charley Ayres joined the Temple staff in January of 2011 after more than 8 years with the Round Rock, Texas Economic Development Partnership as Vice President of Business Retention and Expansion and 16 years in the marketing profession. He serves as the Vice President of the Temple Economic Development Corporation. He is responsible for the efforts in business expansion and recruitment, and workforce development.
Charley’s experience includes sitting on the Board of Round Rock ISD Partners in Education, Foreign Trade Zone of Central Texas, (FTZ 183), he was invited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to serve as a participant in the Institute for a Competitive Workforce, served as Co-Chair of Workforce Development on the Board of Directors for the Texas Economic Development Council and currently serves on the Executive Board of the P-20 Central Texas Regional Council.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Ayres is a graduate of McCallum High School. He received his MBA Business Management Certification from Tulane University, in 2006 completed Basic Economic Development Certification at The University of Southern Mississippi, and in 2008 he completed his IOM Certification (Institute of Organizational Management) at the University of Georgia, has completed professional development with the International Economic Development Council and most recently he was awarded a certification with Economic Modeling Specialists International in the use of labor market data. He aspires to be the kind of man his dog thinks he is.
